Robert WALTHER, born in 1955 in Kassel, studied mechanical engineering at the universities of Clausthal-Zellerfeld and Dortmund. Between 1982 and 1984 he worked for Deutsche Babcock Werke AG Oberhausen as a graduate engineer. Since 1984 he has been working in the field of industrial property protection.

He trained as a patent attorney in his father's patent law firm, at the German Patent and Trademark Office, at the Federal Patent Court in Munich and at the Patent Litigation Chamber of the Düsseldorf District Court.

In 1988 Robert WALTHER joined his father's firm as a partner and has since advised his clients in all fields of intellectual property (patents, trademarks, designs) in German or English.

Since 1996, Robert WALTHER has been a lecturer at the University of Kassel for the lecture "Fundamentals of Industrial Property Protection, (Patents, Trade Marks, Design)".

Robert WALTHER retired at the end of 2021.
